Josh Brookes to Remain in BSB With Honda for 2025
Josh Brookes has signed a new BSB deal for 2025 and will line up at DAO Racing aboard Honda machinery
Two-time BSB champion Josh Brookes has struck a deal with DAO Racing to hop aboard a CBR1000RR-R next season.
Brookes, who lost his ride at FHO Racing in favour of 2024 Isle of Man TT winner Davey Todd, will partner Lee Jackson on the Fireblade, marking his return to Honda for the first time since 2010 when he finished runner-up.
For the last two seasons, Brookes has been riding a BMW M1000 RR, but it’s not been the most competitive package in the class, instead, Ducati, Yamaha and even Honda in the hands of Tommy Bridewell have enjoyed more consistent success.
Brookes admits he’s not had the type of results he wanted and that’s been down to choosing the wrong bikes.
“There’s been a number of years now where I’ve had very few satisfying race results in BSB and that doesn’t match my prior history of racing,” said Brookes.
“My take on that is that motorbikes and teams come in and out of favour through the years and I’ve unfortunately placed myself just in the wrong place at the wrong time, to miss the sweet spot of success.
“So, having made those errors in judgement, I now have the knowledge and more understanding of where I want to be and what’s needed to recover success again. I have confidence in my decision for 2025 that the combination of bike, team, preparation and focus will bring back the desired results we all seek.
“I already have confidence in the crew I will be working with, but I gain even more confidence as I learn more about the spec and the technical development that we plan to work through prior to the season starting.”
Brookes’ two BSB title wins came in 2015 when riding a Yamaha R1 and in 2020 which was his second season riding a Ducati Panigale V4 R.
