Kawasaki WorldSBK Team Unveils Garrett Gerloff’s New ZX-10RR
The Kawasaki WorldSBK Team has taken the covers off its latest ZX-10RR as it becomes the official factory-supported team for the Japanese brand in 2025
The Kawasaki WorldSBK Team, formerly known as Puccetti Racing, will fly the flag for the Japanese manufacturer in 2025 with Garrett Gerloff, who was part of the team’s official launch where it unveiled its latest ZX-10RR race bike.
Gerloff joined Kawasaki after several seasons competing for BMW aboard the M1000 RR, however, the American struggled to achieve the results expected before securing a move to Kawasaki.
Despite switching to the Puccetti Racing outfit, Gerloff will get full factory machinery as it becomes the official Kawasaki WorldSBK Team following KRT’s switch to Bimota.
Shigemi Tanaka - Managing Director of Kawasaki Motors Europe, said: "We are delighted that our Ninja machines will be competing in the 2025 season in WorldSBK and WorldSSP with new riders for each class fielded by the Puccetti Kawasaki Racing Team, who have a proven track record of Kawasaki success across two decades."
Like Gerloff in WorldSBK, the newly-named Kawasaki WorldSBK Team will be running a one-rider set-up in WorldSSP with former Moto2 competitor Jeremy Alcoba switching championships. The Spaniard will be contesting the 2025 season aboard a ZX-6R.
Steve Guttridge, Race Planning Manager at Kawasaki Motors Europe, added: “Kawasaki is excited to help Manuel Puccetti fulfil his long-held ambition of bringing Garrett Gerloff to the WorldSBK grid inside an official Kawasaki team structure on the Ninja ZX-10RR, while returning to the happy hunting ground of WorldSSP with the formidable combination of the 636cc Ninja ZX-6R and new signing Jeremy Alcoba. 2025 is going to be exciting!"
Gerloff and Alcoba have already been in action for the new Kawasaki WorldSBK Team during pre-season testing, which is set to continue next week ahead of the season-opener at Phillip Island, Australia.
