KTM Going Big For Its First EICMA In 5 Years
The 110th edition of the Milan Bike Show is set to be headlined by the return of KTM and it’s bringing new models and technology
KTM is readying its stock this month, as the Austrian company gets set for its first EICMA show in five long years.
The event, taking place from November 5 to 10, will see the Mattighofen marque bringing a host of new and updated models, and some all-new technology to the exhibition hall floor. While the wraps are still firmly draped over the new machines, we can tell you that the firm’s first foray into the world of automatic gearboxes will be taking centre stage.
The KTM AMT system was first seen earlier this summer, when a prototype machine, on that occasion a 1390 Super Adventure R, took part in the gruelling Erzbergrodeo racing in the Iron Road Prologue. In the class for dedicated large-capacity adventure bikes, the AMT-shod bike managed to place a very respectable seventh place with French motocross, rally and enduro rider Johnny Aubert behind the bars.
Further to the AMT, KTM is standardising its cockpit on some of its most popular bikes with a new touchscreen TFT. It’s a big old unit too, measuring a claimed 8.8 inches in size - for comparison the current 1290 Super Adventure features a seven-inch TFT. Within the new dash are revised connectivity features (along with an entirely new connectivity unit) and what KTM calls new ‘customisation possibilities’ along with a revised handlebar switchcube.
Further details on the TFT dash, what it looks like and what it offers are yet to be known, we can tell you, though, that it’ll be landing on what KTM calls its “signature 2025 bikes and the vast arsenal of wares that will shine under the EICMA lights”, which is about as ambiguous as it sounds.
New models set to land at the show will come in the form of the 2025 KTM 1390 Super Adventure S, 1390 Super Adventure R and Super Adventure S Evo. They’ll be joined by the 2025 KTM 990 Duke R (990 Duke pictured below) followed by the unveiling of the all-new 2025 KTM 1390 Super Duke GT. Also on the show stand will be a Super Duke R Evo which remains the same as the 2024 model year. For riders on an A2 licence, the 390 Adventure gains a higher-spec R-spec version in 2025, building on what is already a phenomenal lightweight ADV machine.
On the off-road side of things, KTM will also be debuting its 2025 KTM 85 SX, along with the 2025 KTM 125 SMC R, KTM 390 SMC R, KTM 125 Enduro R and KTM 390 Enduro R all being readied to make their bow. The show will also give fans the chance to check out the 2025 KTM SX-E 3 and KTM SX-E 5, as well as what KTM is calling its ‘revolutionary’ 2025 KTM Freeride E.
Alongside the bikes you can buy will be a smattering of bikes you can’t buy, with KTM bringing some of its motorsport contenders to the event, including its RC16 MotoGP racing machine. Joining the machinery on the KTM stand will be some of the racing stars from the KTM rider stable, although exactly who will be attending on which day is yet to be confirmed.
With a rough idea of the incoming machines and technology, the only other information needed is when the full technical reveals will be taking place. In the run-up to the event opening its doors, KTM will be holding two reveals per week, starting on 8 October and ending on the eve of the show, 8 November. The dates and what specifically is getting revealed on that day can be seen below.
