IF YOU'VE NOT GOT a head for heights, look away now.

This is the moment that pro freestyle motocross rider Taka Higashino rode along a narrow, metal grate walkway around Aukland's Sky Tower.

The 33-year-old Japanese daredevil pulled the stunt on the Southern Hemisphere's highest structure ahead of New Zealand's S-X Open, which will be held in the city this coming weekend.

Commenting after the stunt, Higashino said: "The first time around, halfway I wanted to cry, stop and jump off."

"The view was trippy, I was going, 'Oh my god, I can't watch'. Sometimes, watching the floor felt like a dream, not real."

"It was crazy when the wind came up. The bike was losing balance, the rope had tension too. It looks easy out there but it's actually pretty hard. It was pretty scary."
