This is the weirdest start to an Enduro race we’ve ever seen!

HARD ENDURO events are becoming increasingly popular in the world of off-road riding, with events sweeping Europe and further afield. And Le Mans style starts – where the riders run a 50yds to get to the bikes are not uncommon.

But a Le Mans start which sees the competitors scrambling down into the mouth of a cave and into the pitch-dark is a little bit different!

Lettenbichler grew up riding bikes, getting his hands on his first trials bike at the age of five. He won three junior trials titles before taking a change of direction. His father introduced him to Enduro riding and Manuel caught the bug. On his first appearance at the Red Bull Hare Scramble in Erzberg in 2014 where, at just 16 years old, he became the youngest rider to ever finish the race. Now Manuel has joined the big leagues and enjoys success all over the world on the Hard Enduro circuit. In 2016, he registered victories in Poland, Germany, Spain, Brazil and the Czech Republic, cementing his place as one of the sport’s greatest young riders in the process.
