MTT 420RR 25th Anniversary Edition Announced
One of the wildest motorcycles ever made has been given a reprise, as the MTT 420RR 25th Anniversary is launched

If you have read the many lists counting down the world's fastest motorcycles, you will probably be familiar with the MTT Y2K turbine-powered motorcycle.

First built 25 years ago, and powered by a Rolls Royce M250-C20B helicopter engine, the MTT Y2K instantly became a legend, thanks to its 250mph+ top speed and $175,000 starting price. It also became the adrenalin fix of choice for the bike and car-addicted TV star Jay Leno, who likened the acceleration of it to having “the hand of God pushing you in the back”.

Now, the gas-turbine-powered ‘hand of god’ has a new, more exclusive model, as the MTT 420RR 25th Anniversary Edition has been launched. Like the existing machine, the bike is powered by the same M250-C20B powerplant, which pumps out an eye-watering 414bhp and 500lb ft of peak torque.

What’s new for 2025 is an upgrade in equipment and spec, with each of the street-legal bikes being hand-built using the finest aircraft-grade CNC aluminium and carbon fibre components. Each bike will now also boast ISR Brakes, Ohlins suspension, BST carbon Wheels, and STW and Beijer Electronics. The new bike was announced on February 5, 2025, and production is limited to just 5 bikes to commemorate the 25th anniversary.

And if you’re sat there reading this thinking “Hmmm, I’m not sure a 414bhp motorcycle is a good idea”, you aren’t the only one, as MTT has created an equally bonkers trike based on the same turbine-powered platform!
