Kawasaki’s supernaked range will again feature a standard Z900 and Z900 SE model, like before, but the upgrades for 2025 mean extra electronics and more performance is coming.

Both motorcycles will be powered by a 948cc liquid-cooled four-stroke, four-cylinder engine that produces 123bhp but will have a 16 per cent increase in fuel economy, while also reducing its carbon emissions compared to the previous model thanks to its ability to meet Euro5+ standards.

The Z900 SE model produces 71.8Ib ft of torque, which is the same as the standard Z900 model but where the differences are evident is the suspension and brakes. The SE (Special Edition) features dual semi-floating 300mm Brembo discs with dual radial-mount, Brembo M4.32 monobloc, opposed four-piston callipers, while the rear sees a single 250mm disc, single-piston calliper.

But the Z900 features a Nissin dual semi-floating 300mm discs, dual radial-mount, opposed four-piston calliper. The suspension on the SE features Ohlins at the front and rear, including a horizontal back-link, Ohlins S46 gas-charged shock with rebound damping and spring preload adjustability. This differs from the Z900 which does not include Ohlins.

Low-end torque has received a lift as Kawasaki’s updated quickshifter is reportedly usable from as low as 1500rpm. Increased electronics have resulted in the Japanese brand updating both bikes with cruise control as standard, traction control, and rider modes. Kawasaki has also introduced its first turn-by-turn navigation system. This is displayed via the bike’s five-inch colour TFT dash, when connected to Kawasaki’s Rideology mobile app.

One colour option is available on the SE model which is a Metallic Matt Graphite Grey, while the Z900 features three colourways. Those include Metallic Spark Black/Metallic Carbon Grey, Metallic Carbon Grey/Metallic Phantom Silver/Candy Red and a Metallic Moondust Grey/Metallic Spark Black/ Candy Lime Green.

Along with the standard Z900 and Z900 SE models, a new 2025 Z650 has been introduced that’s A2 licence-friendly.

Pricing for both the Z900 and SE models in the UK is not yet available.
