Chinese motorcycle manufacturer Benda has piqued curiosity by teasing three fresh new models, topped off by a compact new sportsbike that will be powered by a 300cc turbocharged engine.

A young brand even by Chinese standards, while Benda largely focuses on the custom side of motorcycling in a similar manner to the popular Keeway brand, its business model received a significant switch up with last year’s unveiling of the LFC-700 cruiser.

Bearing more than a passing resemblance to the Ducati Diavel, the model is close to going on sale and could make its way to Europe if local demand is strong enough.

Should that occur then a wave of other news models could promptly follow with Benda teasing the imminent unveiling of the VTR-300 Turbo, VTC-300 and LFS-700 in a post marking the Chinese New Year [February 12].

While we don’t have a huge amount to go on beyond a name and a silhouette, Benda has courted some attention with the VTR-300 especially. Provided Chinese firms follow the norms of nomenclature then we can assume ‘T’ stands for twin (rather than turbo) and ‘R’ denotes ‘Racing’.

The engine could draw from the 298cc V-Twin of the existing BD300 bobber though it’s unconventional today for a turbo to be thrown into the mix and would surely make it an intriguing - and revvy - new rival for the likes of the Kawasaki ZX-25R and Honda CBR250R.

As for the other two models showcased on the post, the VTC-300 silhouette would suggest a cruiser relation to the BD300, while the LFS-700 goes in the other direction comparing as a probable naked to the aforementioned cruiser LFC-700.
