Two new bike inspired by BMW's M-Editions have been announced by BMW Motorrad France, taking the manufacturer’s mid-weight models, and elevating them with revised styling and additional parts. The two bikes are officially called 'Sport Editions' although its clear to see where the inspiration for them has come from!

The most obvious change to both the F900 R and F900 XR is the new styling, with both bikes taking their cues from the M1000 R super naked and M1000 XR high-performance touring machine. That means each bike gets a moody black paint job, with grey ‘Sport Edition’ decals on the fuel tank, and traditional red and blue M-Sport-inspired detailing.

Aside from the paint, both machines also gain a host of additional optional parts fitted as standard, with the F900 XR getting a tinted screen (the F900 R doesn't have a screen fitted) and both bikes also feature a seat cowl, with specific decoration and “Sport” lettering at the central fin, black wheel rims with blue, silver and red accent, and an engine guard with blue, silver and red edging.

Both the kits are purely aesthetic, meaning the technical specifications of each model remain the same. That means you are getting a 270-degree crank 895cc parallel twin-cylinder engine which produces 105bhp and 67lb ft of torque. You can further enhance the styling of the bikes with the edition of trick-looking exhaust systems, with the F900 R available with a Conic Carbon silencer, and the F900 XR with an SC-1 R Titanium item. Both bikes are also available in A2-restrictable form, making them possibly the most cost-effective M-Edition vehicles you can go out and buy.
