Buell announce Daytona Bike Week reveals for two new bikes
Buell Motorcycle have announced they will reveal two new models to the public this upcoming weekend at Daytona Bike Week.
BUELL Motorcycle have announced they will be unveiling two new production models at Daytona Bike Week with the Baja DR and SuperTouring 1190 scheduled to be unveiled this Saturday.
Buell’s Baja DR (Dune Racer) has been self-branded by Buell as the “world’s fastest production dirt bike” in a release which dropped on their official Instagram page on 26 February 2022, while the SuperTouring 1190 has a similar tag of “the world’s fastest production touring bike,” in the same post.
Both bikes will be powered by Buell’s liquid-cooled 1190cc ET-V2 V-twin motor, as is also present in their existing models: the Hammerhead 1190, the 1190SX, and the 1190HCR.
The Baja DR will produce 175 horsepower and 101ft lbs (136Nm) of torque - an alarming amount for loose-surface riding - and will come with an adjustable swing arm, meaning the wheelbase can be set between 66 inches and 70 inches. Production of the Baja DR is expected to start in 2023, and Buell expects prices to start at $19,995.
For the SuperTouring, the 1190cc motor differs from that of the Baja DR only in that for the SuperTouring it will produce 10 horsepower more, meaning it will deliver that same 136Nm of torque, but with 185 horsepower. Production for the SuperTouring is expected to start later this year, according to Bill Melvin, CEO of Buell Motorcycle Co., with prices expected to start at $21,995.
Production reservations for both bikes will cost $25, and will be available from noon Eastern Standard Time (EST) on 5 March 2022 when they will be unveiled as part of Daytona Bike Week.
