CFMoto 800NK and 800NK Advanced: Full details revealed

Following the launch of the CFMoto 800NK earlier this year, the Chinese brand has announced the full specs of its higher-spec 'Advanced' variant.

The CFMoto 800NK has been officially revealed by the Chinese manufacturer, offering aggressive looks and an ‘Advanced’ variant, whose details have now been revealed.

The 800NK is the product of the agreement between CFMoto and KTM which sees the former produce a 799cc twin-cylinder engine which the latter uses in the current 790 Duke and 790 Adventure.

The same motor used in those two examples from the Austrian brand’s roster is used in the 800NK, which benefits from peak outputs of 95bhp and 58lb ft of torque.

The characteristics of the engine are adjustable via three riding modes: ‘Sport’, ‘Street’, and ‘Rain’. Additionally, the 800NK comes with cruise control and a slipper clutch as standard.

Adjustability is also available in the suspension, which comes from KYB (something which sets the bike apart from its WP-equipped Austrian counterpart). The Japanese brand supplies fully-adjustable 43mm USD front forks, and the single rear shock.

The bike’s seat height also has two options. The standard height is 795mm, but an 820mm option is also available.

Staying with the chassis, the frame is chromoly-steel-tubular, as on the KTM 790 Duke, although CFMoto does not specify whether the LC8c engine acts as a stressed member of the frame in the 800NK as it does in its KTM relative.

The brakes come from J.Juan, comprising four-piston radial-mounted callipers on the front squeezing dual 320mm discs, and a single-piston calliper combined with a single 260mm rear disc. Braking is also assisted via ABS from Bosch.

The CFMoto 800NK also comes with a range of optional items. These include:

  • Rear Seat Cover
  • Ergo Rider's Seat
  • Handlebar End Mirrors
  • Adjustable Brake and Clutch Levers
  • Drop Bar
  • Axles
  • Crash Bung Kit
  • Adjustable Footpeg System
  • Front Spoiler

The CFMoto 800NK Advanced offers slightly higher specs than the standard version. This begins with the addition of a two-way quickshifter and steering damper (standard on the KTM 790 Duke, albeit a WP unit, not KYB). The weight is also increased by 3kg over the standard bike, to 189kg, largely because of the addition of an eight-inch TFT dashboard, which requires a different handlebar compared to the standard bike. The unit is Apple CarPlay compatible, allows for connection to the CFMoto Ride app, and is able to be updated 'over the air' (wirelessly) when connected to WiFi. There is no performance improvement to make up for the additional weight.

Other features on the 800NK Advanced include keyless start; a "vehicle positioning system" (in the anti-theft sense) which will alert the aforementioned CFMoto Ride app if it thinks the bike is being stolen; follow-you-home lights; automatic headlights; and an ambient light that changes colour "in accordance with the state of the vehicle," a CFMoto press release reads.

Finally, a 'T-Box', also able to connect to the CFMoto Ride app, is able to "to achieve real-time viewing of a stationary vehicle and race track position," CFMoto says.
