HARLEY-DAVIDSON'S forthcoming Street 750 will start from £5,795, it was confirmed today.
It undercuts the Sportster 883 by nearly £2,000 (£7,705) and will be by far the cheapest way to buy into the Harley brand.
Designed with younger, city riders in mind the 750cc liquid-cooled engine is Harley's first new motor in 14 years.
The Street 750 has a narrow profile and comes painted up like a teenage goth in moody black paint all over.
Harley is also promising a low seat height and handlebars designed specifically for the rigours of urban filtering.
It will be available in dealers from mid-September and expect it to come with a brochure brimming with custom options.
