Erik Buell Racing 1190SX specs and price revealed
Full 185hp and surprise sub-£10,000 price for naked version of the 1190RX superbike
ERIK Buell Racing has revealed specifications and a price of its new 1190SX, a naked version of the fully faired 1190RX superbike.
Superbike engines are often detuned for a more mid-range at the expense of top-end before going in naked models, but the specs show the 1190cc V-twin plant is completely unchanged.
It means the SX gets the full 185hp and 101.6lbft of its faired sibling.
The price is $16,995 (£9,900), compared to the RX's $18,995 (£11,067).
Weight is 188kg with all fluids except fuel.
The SX also shares the RX's aluminium frame, which doubles as a fuel reservoir, and single rim-mounted front brake disc with massive eight-pot caliper.
EBR says it creates a new motorcycle category which the firm is calling 'superfighter'.
