As with the first version of Honda’s A2 friendly cruiser, the younger rider is firmly in the crosshairs of this 471cc parallel twin-cylinder machine. For 2020 the focus has been on refining the machine and meeting the latest Euro5 regulations.

To do that Honda has had to re-engineer the bike’s exhaust, with the spent gases flowing from a 2-into-1 system that has a separate catalyst and resonator set up. Other engine mods include a slipper clutch which should provide slick shifting via the six-speed gearbox.

Other additions to the 2020 model are the LED lighting, a gear position indicator, and a revised and more comfortable seat.

Honda Rebel S (2020) features

For 2020 the Rebel will not be stepping into the A2 arena alone, as Honda has also pulled the covers off a new, higher spec version of the machine in the form of the Rebel S. The two bike differ in that the S model features some of the items from the extensive Honda Rebel accessory catalogue fitted as standard.

The bike, pictured above, features a headlight cowl, all-black fork covers and gaiters, a diamond-stitched seat and all the updates mentioned above on the standard bike.

Pricing for these is TBC as it stands – we’ll be on the Honda stand tomorrow to ask the UK team what they will be.
