Indian introduce the FTR Carbon
Indian Motorcycle announce the new 2020 FTR Carbon – here’s everything we know about it
INDIAN Motorcycle has officially released the new 2020 FTR Carbon, a lighter weight and more performance-focused version of the FTR 1200 flat-track-styled naked machine.
Indian is claiming that the new bike is the closest a rider can get to riding their FTR 750 race-only flat track motorcycle on the public roads.
Aside from the new name, the bike also features an Akrapovič exhaust system, FTR Carbon branded centre console, Carbon front mudguard, headlight cowl, fuel tank and airbox covers and passenger seat cowl. It also includes a new Akrapovič low-mounted exhaust finished in black.
Suspension and chassis remain the same as the base model FTR, meaning we have adjustable forks and shock with 150mm of travel and Brembo taking up the braking responsibilities. It also gets traction control, full LED lighting for better visibility, and a 4.3” LED touchscreen dashboard featuring a USB fast-charge port and Bluetooth compatibility for charging and controlling mobile devices.
As with the chassis, the engine of the new FTR Carbon is unchanged over the stock bike, meaning it produces 93kW (124bhp) and 120Nm (88ft-lb) from the 60° 1,203cc V-twin engine.
Speaking about the new bike, Mike Dougherty said:
“For the discerning rider, the FTR Carbon offers a collectable motorcycle with the highest level of finish and raises the bar for American motorcycles once again. Delivering the finest riding experience and with the carbon accents enhancing the unique FTR styling, the FTR Carbon is sure to draw admiring looks anywhere you ride.”
