Indian Motorcycle tease new carbon fibre stunner
Indian Motorcycle has begun teasing the motorcycle world with a new, carbon fibre version of the FTR1200
INDIAN MOTORCYCLE have released a new teaser video showing a new carbon fibre edition of their successful FTR1200 flat-track machine.
Although Indian are keeping the details and specs of the new machine fairly closely guarded – the official full reveal is not taking place until 1st May – we can have a pretty good stab at the bike’s styling and spec compared to the standard FTR1200.
The bike is being heralded as the closest thing you can buy to the firm’s own FTR750, professional flat-track racing bike. Because of this, it’s obviously going to be using a carbon fuel tank – as seen in the teaser – and a carbon single-seat unit and tail section are also likely. The high-level exhaust of the racer (seen above) could also be carried over to the new bikes, along with the race machine’s minimalist front end and flat-track handlebars.
There’s no mention in the press release as to whether the new model will be a limited edition bike or not, although one thing is for sure – with that much carbon fibre on show, it probably won't be cheap!
The bike could be one of three new versions of the FTR released in the coming years. We’ve already seen the FTR Rally (which was codenamed the Street prior to launch) although the Adventure is yet to break cover. If and when the motorcycle world gets back to normal, we may see that bike debuting at some of the winter shows across the globe.
The full unveiling of the FTR1200 Carbon will take place on 1st May at 5pm.
