KTM has teased it will be revealing at least one brand new model in November leaving little doubt a more potent KTM 1290 Super Duke RR lies in wait to shake up the hyper naked class.

The latest generation of the Austrian firm’s flagship model has only been on the market two years but has already seen a lighter, track focused ‘RR’ limited edition hit the road over the past 12 months.

Now KTM is understood to be working on an even loftier spec - branded KTM 1290 Super Duke R EVO - to give it a sharper tuned rival to the likes of the Ducati Streetfighter V4 S and Kawasaki Z H2.

With KTM opting to swerve the EICMA show later this month - but rather pointedly scheduling its presentation just a couple of days before it opens - it is instead dedicating this month to ‘Naked November’ to celebrate all things hyper in its range, culminating in two key dates hinting at one, possibly two or three new models to sink our teeth into.

On 16 November, KTM says ‘two incarnations’ of THE BEAST will take centre stage, touting that popular demand for the ‘complete naked bike’ means it is ‘ready to let something out of the cage’

Then on 23 November, KTM writes: “All powerful and practical and KTM-style; for some this 2022 model will be the definition of how KTM blurs the segments of the motorcycle industry.”

Prior to this, 9 November will provide a Tech Guide for the more ‘engine-head’ motorcyclist to detail the LC8 platform, before getting into the nitty gritty of its second generation WP APEX Semi-Active suspension, which is expected to take centre stage on the EVO.

While it is unclear whether KTM is overplaying its hand with this announcement by suggesting as many as three new naked models will be making their bow, expect to see at least the EVO making its convincing pitch over the next couple of weeks.
