KTM Duke-based supermoto spied
After the RC sports bike series, a clue to the next incarnation of the Duke family
A PHOTO of what appears to be a KTM Duke-based supermoto has emerged on a forum.
The shot shows an Austrian-registered supermoto in prototype camouflage colours with a frame and swing-arm identical to that shared by the Duke 125, 200 and 390.
The front forks are longer than the Dukes’. The shock is in the same position relative to the chassis but also appears longer.
Visordown was told by a source earlier this year that a supermoto version of the Duke family was due in 2015. The same source tipped us off to the fully-faired RC125 and 200, also using the Duke chassis and engines, weeks before any news had emerged of the 2014 models.
The source said the new supermoto models would be next to share the Duke ‘platform’ after the RC series, but would have taller suspension as well as new bodywork and riding position.
It means that, as with the Duke and RC series, a 125, 200 and 390 version of the supermoto is due.
The 125 should make 15hp and the 390 43hp. KTM recently announced the RC200 would not be coming to the UK, suggesting the 200 version of the supermoto is also unlikely to.
The photo of the supermoto was posted on an Italian forum.
