KTM reveals 790 Adventure and Adventure R UK prices
We are SO excited for this to launch...
IF KTM’S SUCCESS at the Dakar Rally has got you all excited for orange off-roading then we have some good news!
The Austrian manufacturer has officially revealed UK prices for its hotly-anticipated new Adventure models – the 790 Adventure and 790 Adventure R.
Back in November, we reported on a social media leak of the prices, and we can now confirm that that information was correct; the 790 Adventure will cost from £11,099, while the 790 Adventure R will start at £11,999.00.
This puts the pair slap bang in between the 690 Enduro R at £9,599 and the 1290 Super Adventure S and R models at £15,199 and £15,399 respectively.
The new models feature the 95hp 799 LC8c inline-twin engine that we first saw in the 790 Duke, albeit tuned to offer more torque lower down the rev range. KTM lists a dry weight of 189 kg, with a 20-litre fuel tank positioned low to keep the centre of gravity down. Full, this tank promises a range of 450km – that’s around 280 miles.
Expect the performance-focused R to be a little less frugal, four riding modes offered alongside uprated suspension and a decent electronics package.
The two new models will be more than worthy competition to the likes of BMW’S F850GS and F850GSA, which cost from £9,875 and £10,600 respectively. Also weighing in on the middle weight adventure battle is Triumph’s Tiger 800XC, which costs from £11,400.
However, the thought of KTM’s off-road prowess combined with the potent 790 powertrain is getting us seriously excited…
