MV Agusta launches Lewis Hamilton Brutale 800 RR
It's the latest in a line of Hamilton special edition MVs
MV AGUSTA has launched a special Lewis Hamilton edition of its Brutale 800 RR
While its partnership with Mercedes AMG may have come to an end last year, MV Agusta has remained close with the brand’s star driver, and following the success of the special edition Dragster 800 RR LH44 and the F4 LH44, has revealed the Brutale 800 RR LH44.
We rode the three-cylinder 140hp Brutale 800 RR on launch in March, and were seriously impressed with its effortless handling, grunty power and high level of tech, including that MotoGP-derived counter-rotating crankshaft and silky-smooth quickshifter.
The Lewis Hamilton edition differs only in style and select components – and price, of course. Production is due to start next month, and only 144 will be built. Each will be numbered and provided with a certificate of authenticity.
As with the two previous LH44 models, it’s is the result of a creative process between Lewis Hamilton and the MV Agusta Design Center (CRC).
The colour scheme - a blend of black, red and white - was derived from
Hamilton’s personal style, while graphics include his logo and race number, 44.
For the model’s bodywork MV claim to have used materials and components never before seen on production naked bikes, including specially designed carbon fibre components and a heat-resistant ceramic-based coating. Other components, including the brake and clutch levers and fluid reservoir caps are machined from light alloy billet, while the tank cap, engine oil filler cap, clutch cover guard and alternator guard are all CNC machined.
