MV Agusta reveals Dragster 800 RR America

MV AGUSTA has pulled the wraps from its new limited edition Dragster 800 RR America ahead of EICMA.

The fifth ‘America’ model to leave the Varese factory – after 1975’s ‘S America 750', and three editions of the ‘Brutale America’ – the Dragster 800 RR America will be produced in a limited run of just 200 bikes.

Based on the dramatic Dragster 800 RR platform, and featuring that attractive mica blue base with iridescent reflections, the America boasts unique graphics and details. The tank is adorned with stars, just like on the original 750 S, while the striking red saddle boasts gold stitching. Meanwhile, the blue wheel hubs, red spokes and white rims pay homage to the American flag.

The gloss black front mudguard boasts the MV Agusta logo, while the ‘America Special Edition’ decal graces the side of the radiator and the instrument cluster cover, along with the unique production number. Each of the 200 models will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

For 2018, the Dragster 800 RR underwent a redesign, focussing on its dynamic and aggressive design. The miniscule tail features a 3D LED rear light cluster with daylight running lights, while the front end remains compact, thanks to the integrated steering damper built into the upper triple clamp.

The Euro 4-compliant three-cylinder engine is derived from the Brutale 800 RR – a smooth, versatile unit with buckets of power. Making 140hp and 64lb-ft at 10,100rpm, the 798cc unit is mated to a new gearbox which features MV’s EAS 2.0 “Up and Down” quickshifter, which complements the comprehensive electronics package that includes adjustable traction control and customisable engine maps.
