Moto Guzzi is preparing to expand its range with the launch of a brand-new sport tourer model in the coming weeks, according to spy shots.

Dubbed the V100 - according to Moto.it, who acquired the snaps on a pre-launch photo shoot on Lake Como - the new model will signal a new flagship for the brand, sitting above the V85 TT.

The Italian marque, which is celebrating its centenary in 2021, has persevered with a range of mainly cruisers built around the V7 and V9 architecture, plus the V85 TT adventure-crossover.

Launched in Spring 2019, the V85 TT was the last brand-new model to come from the storied manufacturer, making this fresh move into a new segment a significant event for Moto Guzzi.

Though there aren’t too many details to go on beyond the images you see here, the ‘V100’ will likely be powered by the firm’s 1000cc engine, generating around 120bhp.

While we will have to wait to get a good look at the front-end design, the rear-quarter shows a bluff side profile, which to our eyes appears both modern but still with a hint of the heritage retro the firm is famed for.

Presumably the V1000 - which will be aimed at the Yamaha Tracer 9, Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX and the heavily rumoured incoming Honda NT 1100 -  is being prepared for a launch at the 2021 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan on November 25-28.
