GERMAN authority Motorrad claims that Suzuki’s website briefly revealed the until-now-secret power figures for the new GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F.

While the figures have now been removed again, the data that was revealed suggested the bikes – which are identical apart from the addition of a fairing for the ‘F’ version – both make 145hp at 9,500rpm.

Given that they’re powered by an old-generation GSX-R1000 motor, retuned to suit both the new bikes’ more laid-back style and the latest emission regulations, the figure sounds more than plausible.

The German magazine and website Motorrad says it was alerted to the slip-up by one of its readers.
