New BMW S1000 R Looks Like a Streetfighter V4

A new 2025 BMW S1000 R could be set to replicate the appearance of Ducati’s Streetfighter if its new nose is anything to go by

A new BMW S1000 R is in the works for 2025 and a new nose has certainly grabbed the attention if the design is to be true.

The new nose is already confirmed and since its inception ten years ago the S1000 R has undergone three considerable updates, the last of those being a big refresh in 2021.

The new design registration documents appear to show that a twin-headlight feature, mirroring that of the Ducati Streetfighter, will be used to construct the front section of the motorcycle.

Holding true to its four-year span for producing an updated S1000 R, BMW is certainly on-track to produce another naked bike that will compete right at the very top of the market against the likes of the Ducati Streetfighter V4, the Aprilia Tuono V4, Yamaha’s MT-10 and Triumph’s Street Triple 1200 RS.

Since the S1000 R underwent a complete revamp in 2021, major updates will likely be scarce, however, that won’t stop new developments from taking place.

The new nose fairing and headlight are expected to lead the way in terms of ‘bigger’ changes, while it’s expected to become even more familiar with the S1000 RR Superbike.

What we also know from the images is that this is clearly the S1000 R and not the M1000 R, thanks to its standard wheels and slightly slimmer fairing section.

The M1000 R features winglets on the front fairing that can also be found on the M1000 RR, which is the road going version of the FIM Homologated Superbike that Toprak Razgatlioglu is likely to clinch the 2024 WorldSBK title with.

The S1000 R currently uses a single headlight concept - the M1000 R does too - but it can’t be denied that Ducati’s Streetfighter is one of the more pleasant naked bikes aesthetically, which is especially true when thinking about the front section.

So with BMW seemingly going in that direction with its own dual headlight, it’s a much more interesting design which could lead to the M1000 R adopting something similar going forward.
