A group of riders in India were invited to test 11 Yamaha FZS-F1 hybrid motorcycles as part of a mileage test, with the bike proving to be very fuel efficient.

AR Enterprises Yamaha, a dealership based in Jharkhand, India, invited 11 customers who had bought a Yamaha bike within the last three months to participate in the test.

After refuelling at the start of the ride, the group of motorcyclists set off from the showroom, maintaining a speed of 50–60km/h (between 31-37mph) on a route that included a bypass road and national highway, as well as a return loop where a distance of around 22 miles was covered.

Each motorcycle was individually tested, and the mileage ranged from 175mpg to 203mpg, which gives it an estimated range of 460 to 550 miles. The FZS-F1 comprises a 12-litre fuel tank, and whichever way you look at it, that is phenomenal economy for a 149cc motorcycle.

The FZS-F1 features a 4.2-inch digital console with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation support, live weather updates, call and text alerts and music control.

The Yamaha FZS-FI Hybrid also boasts traction control that’s designed to prevent skidding and reduce the likelihood of serious accidents, alongside an anti-lock braking system to offer greater control and stability.

The FZS-F1, which resembles Yamaha’s MT range aesthetically, is India’s first hybrid motorcycle and was introduced in March, 2025.

The bike is also very cheaply priced as it reportedly costs around £1,230, although it’s not available in the UK, at least not yet.
