Peter Hickman and Davey Todd have become the co-owners of the new 8TEN Racing Team, which will see them ride BMW M1000 RR bikes in BSB and on the roads in 2025.

The team will have full support from BMW Motorrad, after the pair left FHO Racing just a couple of months after signing deals with the team. As part of their dual ownership and riding commitments, Hickman and Todd’s new 8TEN Racing will compete in the 2025 British Superbike Championship, the North West 200 and the Isle of Man TT.

Both winners at the 2024 running of the Isle of Man TT, Hickman and Todd competed for FHO as recently as November at the Macau Grand Prix, but the Faye Ho-owned team has decided to downsize for its 2025 campaign.

Speaking about the new role, Hickman said: “The opportunity to co-own and run 8TEN Racing alongside Davey is exciting, and having run my own team across other classes, the experience I have gained over the last few years should put us in good stead to be competitive.

“We know the M1000 RR very well which will allow some continuity, we’ll be looking to continue our success on the roads.”

Hickman will once again be paired alongside crew chief Darren Jones, who has been with the 14-time TT winner during his previous road racing success. On the other side of the garage, Todd’s crew chief will be Stewart Johnstone, who also keeps hold of the same role following Todd’s maiden TT win last year.

Speaking about becoming a team owner for the first time in his career, Todd added: “I’m really looking forward to this new chapter of my career, riding and co-owning 8TEN Racing. This structure will be a new dynamic to learn, but I’ve seen it work across other motorcycle championships like Supercross.

“I’m excited to be more involved in the dealings of the team, as well as build on the success I had with BMW last year.”
