Yesterday we brought you the news that 14-time Isle of Man TT winner Peter Hickman and Davey Todd were departing FHO Racing, an announcement that shocked the BSB and road racing worlds, and now Hickman has shared his thoughts.
Outside of Michael Dunlop, who is the most successful rider at the TT ever with 29 wins, John McGuinness and Ian Hutchinson, no other current road racer has more wins at the legendary mountain course than Hickman, while the Englishman has also shown himself to be a successful circuit racer, winning six races during his BSB career.
Part of the FHO Racing Team set-up for several years, Hickman was confirmed as part of the team’s new 2025 BSB and road racing line-up alongside Todd as recently as November, however, a shift in priorities has led to FHO Racing going in a different direction, resulting in Hickman and Todd signing for the new 8TEN Racing Team.
Despite the surprising split, Hickman thanked FHO Racing in a post shared on Facebook: “I want to say a massive thank you to Faye [Ho] and FHO Racing for everything she has done for me over the last four years.
“As is normal with racing we’ve had mega highs and disappointing lows throughout but FHO has and always will be a huge part of my racing career and I’m forever grateful for that opportunity.
“Now starts another chapter with teammate Davey Todd at 8Ten Racing and BMW Motorrad. More news to come later this month but to say I’m excited would be an understatement. Huge thanks to all my sponsors and supporters both present and past, let’s make 2025 an unforgettable one.”
Meanwhile, Todd has confirmed a major sponsor that will be joining his side of the garage, which is none other than OnlyFans. The first-time TT winner in 2024 will partner with the content subscription company to give fans exclusive behind the scenes footage of racing, preparation and diet throughout the 2025 season.
