The Dainese Group has acquired the TCX boot brand!
The Dainese Group has acquired the TCX boot brand for an as yet unknown amount
ITALIAN motorcycle and safety gear giants Dainese has completed a takeover of famous Italian boot manufacturer Dainese.
The acquisition now means Dainese can truly offer head to toe protection for riders, as the firm already owns Italian helmet manufacturer AGV. Dainese does already make boots branded in its won name, although it’s motorcycle leathers, textiles, and undergarments that the brand is most famous for.

Based in Tevisio, TCX has been making boots for more than 20 years, covering everything from track and sports boots, adventure style products, and even a range of more casually styled items. The firm is famous for its patented Torsion Control System, which allows the ankle to move laterally and longitudinally within the physical limits of the human ankle.
Cristiano Silei, CEO at Dainese Group commented
“Improving safety in dynamic sports has always been the Dainese mission, committing to ongoing research into innovative systems that protect athletes from head to toe. We are extremely proud of this operation. TCX shares with Dainese the passion for product and adds technical and development skills that are fundamental in motorbike footwear. I take the opportunity to welcome the TCX team. We cannot wait [to start] working together”.

As it stands at the moment it is still not clear whether or not Dainese and TCX will continue to compete or if the former will absorb TCX and take on the brand's intellectual property and production facilities.
Reading the statement above between the lines, it seems like the two firms will continue as they are, although possibly focussing on different areas of the motorcycle footwear market.
We’ve asked Dainese’s UK Manager for comment and will update as soon as we hear back.
