Ducati launches new Warm Up 2 and Cool Down 2 base layer lines
Ducati has launched a new pair of base layer lines, with the Warm Up 2 and Cool Down 2 taking care of both cooler and warmer conditions.
Ducati has announced a new selection of base layers as part of a collaboration with Aquafil.
The new collaboration will see the creation of two Ducati-branded base layers made with Dryarn, which Ducati describes as “an innovative microfibre that guarantees optimal breathability and keeps the body always dry and at the correct temperature in both the hottest and the most rigid climates,” in a press release.
The two base layers have unadventurous - but helpful - names, which easily distinguish one from the other. The first is the Cool Down 2, and the second is the Warm Up 2. Cool Down is of course the sports option, with cooling, anti-sweat and anti-odour properties; while Warm Up is for sport-touring and road use, and help keep you warm in colder weather.
Both Cool Down 2 and Warm Up 2 are composed of multiple components, including short-, long- and no-sleeve tops; balaclavas, and socks. The tops are designed by Drudi Performance (of Aldo Drudi, long-time designer of MotoGP riders’ helmets, including Valentino Rossi), and “combine an attractive design with excellent performance in terms of lightness, elasticity and breathability,” Ducati says. “They are equipped with areas with a new large-mesh construction to optimise body transpiration and eliminate excess heat in the areas of greatest perspiration.”
Meanwhile, the balaclava features micro-mesh zones for breathability, and the socks are designed to get rid of sweat, while being reinforced in certain areas with motorcycle use in mind.
In the Warm Up 2 range, there is a long-sleeve thermal t-shirt, thermal pants, thermal socks, and a balaclava.
The t-shirt is again designed by Drudi Performance, and is again designed for elasticity and breathability. “They are equipped with areas with a new large-mesh construction, which optimise body transpiration and eliminate excess heat in the areas of greatest perspiration,” Ducati says of the long-sleeve thermals.
On the other hand, the Warm Up 2 balaclava features Dryarn technology which helps to insulate the neck and chin, and protect from the outside in cold weather; while the thermal socks are made of merino wool, and again made with motorcycle use in mind when it comes to reinforcement in particular areas.
You can check out the new Ducati base layer lines on their website, and the range is also available in Ducati’s official dealers.
