LS2 Strobe II brings wholesale changes to flip front motorcycle helmet
The LS2 Strobe II is launching for 2024, bringing an array of changes compared to the original Strobe - LS2’s best selling flip front motorcycle helmet
The new LS2 Strobe II motorcycle helmet brings a whole host of updates and changes compared to its predecessor, with the new 2024 version available now.
Designed with the ‘long oval’ shape which LS2 uses across all of its motorcycle helmets, the Strobe II features a redesigned outer shell compared to the original Strobe. It is now made from KPA (Kinetic Polymer Alloy), which is a blend of polycarbonates and thermoplastics “specifically formulated by LS2,” LS2 says in a press release. The idea of KPA is to offer the combination of light weight and high resistance to penetration, while maintaining flexibility so as to not compromise energy dispersion. The weight of the helmet is indeed fairly light at 1.55kg, and, of course, it meets ECE 22.06 standards.
The modular Strobe II is also ‘dual homologated’ to that standard, meaning in both the ‘open’ and ‘closed’ positions. Transitioning between the two positions is helped by a chin bar which can move in unison with the visor.
The visor itself is scratch and UV-resistant, and comes “Pinlock-ready,” LS2 says. It features what LS2 describes as an “intuitive release mechanism,” and has a secondary sun visor.
Ventilation is handled by ports at the front and back, and connected by internal channelling.
The liner is both breathable and hypoallergenic, and can be removed for washing. Other features include a chin curtain to help reduce wind noise; a built-in breath guard; and a quick-release micrometric metal buckle fastener.
The LS2 Strobe II is available in sizes XS-3XL, with those sizes split across three shell sizes. There are four solid colour options priced at £99.99, and four graphic options costing £119.99.
