New track waterproofs from R&G Racing
Obviously it's never going to rain again. But just in case it does...
THERE'S A philosophical debate about man's ability to think about death. Damien Hirst's 'shark in a tank' work, The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living, considered this. And this week, you could also consider 'The Physical Impossibility of Rain in the Mind of Someone Who's Been Too Hot for Months Now'.
Because, yes, there's not been much rain about, for which we're mostly grateful. And the possibility of rain seems very very strange right now. But them clouds will break eventually, for sure. And when they do, you can guarantee it'll be in the middle of a trackday or a race. Although in a further sign of the end of days, even Knockhill BSB is forecast to be hot and sunny this weekend.
But never fear! Top UK accessories firm R&G Racing has just released some proper track waterproof kit, aimed at racers and trackday fans who want to stay dry while charging about in full leathers round a racetrack. The two-piece trouser and jacket suit is specially cut to fit over leathers, humps, kneesliders (note the thick 'wet' R&G sliders on the dummy there) and all that malarkey, and are transparent, so everyone can see your sponsors. We're not joking there either - the suit's been developed with help from a load of top BSB riders, and stuff like that was essential for them.
The suit features the R&G logo on the sleeve cuff, the jacket zips up at the front and includes a stretch panel to suit body length and has taped seams for increased water resistance. The jacket costs £39.99, the trousers are £35.99, and they come in sizes S-XXL. Sadly, we don't think they're very shark-resistant though.
