An agreement has been established whereby Fox Racing is set to be acquired by Vista Outdoor.

Fox Racing is one of the most high-profile brands in two-wheeling as a whole, let alone in the off-road motorcycle scene. With riders like HRC’s Ken Roczen, Tim Gajser and Mitch Evans, as well as KTM’s Ryan Dungey and Kawasaki’s Adam Cianciarulo, and prominent woman racer Jordan Jarvis all in Fox Racing, their presence in motocross puts them among the biggest brands in the sport.

Back in 2014, Fox Racing was subject to a “majority recapitalisation” by Altamont Capital, which Swap Moto Live reports was worth around $200 million.

Less than eight years later and Fox Racing is changing hands again, with Vista Outdoors agreeing a deal with Altamont Capital to acquire Fox Racing for a reported $540 million, according to Business Insider. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of the 2023 financial year.

Vista Outdoors is also the owner of other outdoors brands, including Bell Helmets, who protect the heads of the likes of Cooper Webb and Eli Tomac, who combined have won the last four AMA Supercross titles.

Vista also owns Remington, the firearms brand which makes both guns and ammunition; Bushnell, who make binoculars and rifle scopes; Champion, who make shooting targets; Gunmate, who make gun holsters; Hoppe’s 9, M-Pro 7, and Outers, who all make gun care kits; RCBS, who make reloading kits; Weaver Optics, Tasco, and Simmons Optics, who make scopes and other optics-focused gun accessories; and Uncle Mike’s, who make gun holsters and rifle slings.

Quietkat, who make e-bikes aimed at hunters, are also a part of Vista Outdoors’ portfolio, as well as many other hunting-focused brands.

Vista Outdoors’ portfolio also features Krash, who make kids’ helmets and scooters; and Raskullz, who make kids’ helmets, stabilised bicycles, water bottles and swimming goggles.
