Redding warms up quickest at Knockhill
He starts down in 15th for race one but Scott Redding demonstrates his pace in the dry with the quickest lap time in morning warm-up
Knockhill BSB - Warm-up Results
Scott Redding bounced back to the top of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship timesheets in morning warm-up ahead of today’s two races at Knockhill.
His first visit to the Scottish venue, Redding has shown impressive performance in the dry this weekend but struggled – together with his fellow Ducati counterparts – for pace in the wet qualifying, the ex-MotoGP rider qualifying down in 15th.
With today’s weather expected to remain dry, albeit much cooler than Friday and Saturday, Peter Hickman showed a sizeable upturn in pace to prove second quickest with his best lap of the weekend, ahead of Danny Buchan, who will fancy his chances of a maiden BSB win from the front row given both his and Kawasaki’s excellent record at Knockhill.
Tarran Mackenzie was fourth best ahead of fellow Yamaha Dan Linfoot, while pole sitter Xavi Fores and his Honda team-mate Andrew Irwin turned in sixth and seventh best times.
Joining his team-mate Redding down the grid order in 14th, Josh Brookes was eighth fastest in warm-up, with championship leader Tommy Bridewell ninth and Christian Iddon – the only Tyco BMW competing today following Keith Farmer’s crash and injury – completing the top ten.
Farmer's withdrawal means the front row two rows for race one comprise Xavi Fores on pole alongside Buchan, with Mackenzie and Irwin in third and fourth.
