Joan Mir made early MotoGP debut

Joan Mir has already got his first taste of the Suzuki GSX-RR after making his MotoGP debut during a private test at Motegi, following the recent Malaysian Grand Prix.

"We had an opportunity to make a test with Joan Mir," confirmed team manager David Brivio.

"After Sepang we went to Motegi because we had a normal test planned with Sylvain Guintoli, so [Mir] went there and had the opportunity to make some laps on our bike.

"We wanted to fix his riding position and to be a little bit more prepared for next Tuesday and Wednesday [at Valencia]."

But Brivio gave little else away, saying only: "It was good!"

Mir - sixth overall with four podiums during his rookie Moto2 season- is the only 2019 rookie joining a factory MotoGP team. The young Spaniard will race alongside Alex Rins, in place of Andrea Iannone.
