REPORTS are emerging that ITV will no longer be showing the Silverstone round of the 2023 MotoGP championship live and free on terrestrial TV.

The news comes from MotorsportBroadcasting.com, which seems to be the source of the news. The change is contrary to a press release published in June which confirmed that both the Italian round from Mugello and the British GP would be broadcast live on ITV.

As a replacement for the broadcast, Motorsport Broadcasting reports that the season-ending round from Valencia will now be shown live on the ITV network, although for fans expecting to catch all the action from next weekend’s event that is likely to be scant consolation.

A statement from ITV reads:

“Due to competition in ITV’s schedule, we will be showing highlights of the Silverstone MotoGP round but plan to show full live coverage of the season finale in Valencia,”

Fans wanting to catch up with all the action from next weekend’s race will still be able to do so via the traditional highlights show on ITV.
