Marc Marquez will make the headlines for his return to the bike as he continues to heal, and he’ll miss the season opener in Qatar as he makes his way back from the injury sustained. When asked about getting on a bike, Marquez said "But I will ride MotoGP bike when I feel in an acceptable way, in good condition. I mean now, even if tomorrow the doctors say 'you can ride a bike', I’m not in the conditions to ride a bike.”
Pol Espargaro is one of the few riders switching teams for 2021, making his way over from the KTM team, and he’s only got a short timeframe to get used to the RC213V - just 5 days of testing in Qatar before the first race. Regarding the situation, Pol said: "But no excuses, I come into the Repsol Honda team knowing the situation, knowing the pre-season is going to be short and with the team we have already talked a lot about how to plan the strategy before the first race.”
