McGuinness to ride Hislop's 1992 winning Norton at the Classic TT
Twenty-one time TT winner will take part in next year's Classic TT on Steve Hislop's Abus Norton
TWENTY-ONE-time Isle of Man TT winner John McGuinness will take part in next year's Classic TT on the Abus Norton ridden to victory by Steve Hislop in the 1992 Senior race.
McGuinness will be on the 'White Charge' Norton ridden by Hislop in his famous 1992 battle with Carl Fogarty, regarded as one of the greatest races in TT history.
A special Classic TT Parade Lap, Norton the Rotary Years, will run on Monday August 31, showcasing the Rotary Nortons of the 1980s and 1990s.
There will be 18 original factory Rotary Nortons at the Classic TT along with a number of famous JPS liveried machines and the Duckhams-sponsored bikes from the late Rotary era.
All will be on display from Friday August 28 to Tuesday September 1, including Rem Fowler's inaugural TT winning bike from 1907 in a special pop-up paddock museum courtesy of Birmingham's National Motorcycle Museum.
As usual, the Classic TT will take a step back in time but this year it will be to the rocker years of the late 1950s and early 1960s, with music, fashion and more besides.
