Second fatality in Manx Grand Prix 2014
Tim Moorhead dies during Friday evening's practice session
THE Manx Motor Cycle Club have announced that Tim Moorhead was killed during Friday evening's Manx Grand Prix practice and qualifying session.
50-year-old Moorhead, from Kent, made his debut on the Mountain course during the 2012 Manx Grand Prix.
The Manx Motor Cycle Club issued this statement: "Tim Moorhead, from Whitstable in Kent, was killed during last night's qualifying session for the 2014 Manx Grand Prix on the Isle of Man.
"The incident occurred just before the Black Hut, on the Mountain section of the course, at approximately 8.05pm.
"Moorhead, 50, who was married, made his Manx Grand Prix in 2012.
"The Manx Motor Cycle Club wish to pass on their deepest sympathy to Tim's family and friends.
"The Coroner of Inquests has been informed and an investigation into the circumstances of the accident is underway."
