Ride To The Wall 2024 Takes Place Tomorrow
The RTTW memorial ride is to commemorate the fallen service personnel and it ends at the National Memorial Arboretum near Burton on Trent
The annual Ride To The Wall (RTTW) ride-out allows bikers to gather together at a place of remembrance, to pay their respects to fallen servicemen and women. While also raising funds to help perpetuate their memory and recognise the sacrifices made.
The event sees riders setting off from eleven starting points across the UK, all of which will converge on the National Memorial Arboretum tomorrow afternoon. Rides are departing from Drayton Manor, Woodall Services (S), Northampton Services (N), Cherwell Valley Services (N), Wolseley Bridge Garden Centre, Strensham Services (N), Knutsford Services (S), Leicester Forest East Services (N), junction 23A of the M1 (N), Telford Services, Factory Head Cafe - Donington Park, and Sandbach Services on the southbound carriageway.
Once the ride is complete and all the bikes have arrived there are a number of events running throughout the day, including performances from singers, buglers, and the British Army Band Catterick. The day will culminate with a service which will end with a wreath-laying ceremony and a minute's silence.
The rideout has, in previous years, been attended by vast numbers of bikers, with a whopping 7,000 reported to have taken part in the 2019 running of the event. With a £10 voluntary contribution paid to take part in it, the RTTW event is a chance to raise huge sums for the National Memorial Arboretum, the centre of remembrance for fallen service personnel in the UK. Sadly registration for this year's event is closed, although should you still want to donate to the good causes the event supports you can do so via the official website here.
