WATCH: Pol Tarrés show how good a Yamaha Ténéré 700 really is
Hard enduro racer and all-around motorcycle legend Pol Tarrés takes the Yamaha Ténéré 700 to the limit of what is possible and beyond
WE all know that the Yamaha Ténéré 700 is one of the best options for adventure riders looking for a capable, rugged, and reliable package.
Even in standard trim as if it rolled off the dealership floor, a stock Ténéré is more capable than a lot of the owners that will buy them. Yet it’s also easy to ride, comfortable and returns good economy thanks to that tried and tested CP3 twin-cylinder engine.

We’ve now also got the more hardcore Rally edition of Yamaha’s middle-weight adventure machine. The Rally boasts a revised riding position and a host of special parts designed at protecting the bikes and the rider in harsh environments.
But what if you wanted to take the Ténéré even further? Is it capable of everything that a trial or enduro motorcycle is?
Wheelieing into your Wednesday to answer that question is Spaniard Pol Tarrés, an enduro racer and all-around motorcycle magician from Barcelona. He’s more at home chasing wins in events like the Romaniacs hard enduro and the Hare Scramble, although as the video shows, he’s perfectly adept at hurling Yamaha’s middle-weight adventure machine at scenery I’d struggle to walk up, let alone ride up on a 200kg adventure motorcycle.
It’s a fairly lengthy clip, even after we trimmed the first minute or so of hipster intro off for you – you’re welcome – but is well worth watching all the way through you’ll see a Ténéré performing feats that you probably didn’t think would be possible.
