Kyle Ryde makes light work of the daunting Cadwell Park circuit using a unique rear suspension camera angle

Kyle Ryde is one of the best British Superbike riders at the moment, and this camera angle shows why. A two-time winner at Cadwell Park recently, Ryde mounted a camera above the rear tyre of his OMG Racing R1 to provide new insight into how to ride a Superbike flat out around the undulating circuit.

Ryde is currently second in the BSB standings behind last year’s series winner, Tommy Bridewell. However, his double win last time out meant he was able to close in on the Honda rider. But as impressive as that was, this onboard lap will blow your mind.

Ryde puts the rear suspension through an awful lot as he spends much of the lap flipping from side to side. Still one of the best handling bikes in BSB, Ryde shows just that during this onboard lap as he makes no mistakes.

If you’ve ever ridden Cadwell Park, you will likely be familiar with the mountain section which normally inspires a lot of riders to try and go airborne. But with his R1 handling like a dream, Ryde and his rear suspension handles the elevated piece of track without any hiccups.

Cadwell Park is one of the narrowest circuits in the UK but it still remains frighteningly fast. Ryde is able to make it look very routine, which is probably no surprise given he won both race one and race three by over seven-tenths of a second.

Thanks to his results so far in 2024, Ryde, along with OMG Racing Yamaha team-mate Ryan Vickers, will get a taste of World Superbike action later this year with an appearance at the season-finale in Jerez.

Just three rounds remain in the 2024 BSB season, starting with Oulton Park before Donington Park plays host to the penultimate round later this month. The campaign will end at Brands Hatch in the middle of October.
