World Champion Glen English to Make Racing Return In Manx GP

A Former Manx Grand Prix winner and FIM Classic Bike World Champion is to make a racing return to the Isle of Man this month, as Glen English is confirmed for the four-lap Carole Nash Classic Senior race.
English will be riding a 500cc Manx Norton in the event, and taking part for the snappily named Melbray London/Watch Vault/The Shed team. The Hayle resident, who debuted on the Isle of Man in 1990, will also be contesting the 2 Wheeling Classics Classic Junior race, this time riding a 350cc Honda K4.
One of English's best results in the Isle of Man TT came in the 1996 Ultra-Lightweight 125cc race, where he claimed a third-place finish behind the legendary Joey Dunlop. Aside from the lightweight bikes, English has also had top twenty spots in both Lightweight 250cc and Supersport 400cc events, with his quickest lap ever of the TT course recorded as 111.800mph and coming in the 1995 Senior.
More recently the Cornish rider became the 2003 FIM World Classic Bike champion and went on to claim several British titles in the Classic 350cc and 500cc and Supermono categories. He’s also had success at the Goodwood Revival, most recently in the Barry Sheene Trophy, when as a teammate to John McGuinness, the pair took the top spot on the podium aboard a 500cc Manx Norton.
