Try a Boxer engined bike first, especially the new R1200RT

Pros
Smooth engine and decent weather protection.
Cons
Ugly, handling isn't great, paint schemes are terrible!

The in-line four engine isn’t one if BMW’s best ideas. While it’s quite a smooth engine, it lacks any kind of character and is quite thirsty. On the move the K1200RS’ handling isn’t brilliant but like most BMWs, it is very comfortable. When it comes to BMW tourers, the Boxer engines R1200 or R1150 are far better machines – and cheaper to boot.
