Rekurv C-13.02 ‘Sporty’ Gloves Review: Comfort Meets Impressive Feel
I’ve been riding in the Rekurv C-13.02 ‘Sporty’ gloves for over four months, and to say they’ve become my go-to option, is an understatement
Affordable, high-quality, stylish and a set of gloves that will keep your hands warm in the winter despite being perforated! The Rekurv C-13.02 gloves tick all of the above boxes.
I’ve ridden with the gloves in sunny, windy and rainy conditions and they’ve performed very well in each setting, not to mention the summer and winter, and although they are not branded as winter gloves, I found that my hands were staying warm even when temperatures began to steadily drop.
If you’re looking to ride in zero or single-digit degrees you may want a true winter pair of gloves, but for us fair-to-warm temperature riders, these will do a very good job. The gloves have been rated Level 2 CE approved.
Key features
- Goatskin material
- Carbon short cuff and knuckle protectors
- Touchscreen compatibility
Along with some impressive key features, the gloves could not have been better from the standpoint of being very durable after months of consistent riding, while also using them in all types of conditions. They also offer very good value, not just because of the qualities listed, but because it’s a glove that costs just £66.
With Christmas fast approaching, these gloves would serve as the perfect present for someone who likes ‘shorter’ gloves while also wearing a very stylish garment. The Velcro strap is very easy to fasten, is lightweight and also very thin which allowed me to slide it under the sleeve of different motorcycle jackets without issues, including the Rekurv Leather Combi jacket, which we recently tested at Visordown.
The gloves feature large perforations on the back side of the fingers and wrist for optimal ventilation, stretch inserts on the fingers are included along with the outside sewn finger edges, palm reinforcement, knuckle protectors in a carbon style and material conducive for smartphone operation.
The upper and lower hand section of the gloves consist of goatskin, while the cuff is made of flexible goatskin and textile fabric, with a split of 50 per cent polyurethane and 50 per cent nylon. The inner lining is 100 per cent polyester.
Whether it was applying the throttle or reaching for the brakes/clutch lever, the extremely smooth goatskin made it very easy to feel a connection with different bikes that I was riding. The gloves I’ve been using have been taken across hundreds of miles, road and off-road riding, and everything in between and still look relatively new.
I haven’t seen any loose stitching or deterioration in terms of the material, nor has the feel been affected by riding in these gloves on a weekly basis. The gloves I’ve been testing were a size medium and fit very well with only a minor amount of loose material on my ring and little fingers.
Should you buy the Rekurv C-13.02 Gloves?
If you’re in the market for a well-designed glove that combines very good feel on the bars, a stylish appearance and exceptional value, then absolutely. It’s a glove that can be used year-round but is most at home in summery conditions. Short gloves are not to everyone’s taste, in fact, it took me four years to ditch race-length gloves in favour of trying out a shorter pair, and I haven’t consistently used a long-length glove since using these short, yet sporty Rekurv gloves.
On top of that, there’s currently a sale on Louis Moto for these gloves, with the price slashed to £50.
