2025 Vespa GTS 310 Gets Completely New Engine
The new Vespa GTS 310 features an engine that’s been overhauled with 70 per cent new components, making it the most powerful Vespa power unit ever
Much of the new Vespa GTS 310 won’t look very different at first glance, and well, that’s because it’s not compared to the previous model, however, one key area is very different which is the completely overhauled engine.
Vespa claims 70 per cent of the new engine developed for 2025 has been redeveloped, which has resulted in the most powerful GTS 310 ever built. A staple for previous GTS 310 models was its liquid-cooled 278cc engine but the improved power unit has given it an improved displacement of 310cc, while the stroke of the single-cylinder increases from 63 to just over 70mm. Thanks to its changes, the new GTS 310 produces 25bhp. The torque has also been increased, although no figures have been provided as of yet.
Further developments to the GTS 310 include the powertrain which incorporates new injectors, a tilted cylinder, a new starting system, and a crankcase design that significantly reduces mechanical and drive belt noise. The new engine, designed to meet the Euro 5+ standard, is also more efficient than ever before.
There’s little change to the chassis for 2025 as it retains its full-steel bodywork. The new and improved GTS 310 features 12-inch rims and a disc brake system on both wheels. It’s also equipped with an advanced ASR (anti-slip regulation) system. The electronics package is complete with ABS anti-lock braking system; both are fitted as standard across the entire Vespa GTS family.
Tech-wise, Vespa is not exactly pushing the boat out compared to today’s standards, that being said, the GTS does get traction control, LED headlights, and the option to specify phone connectivity.
Three colour options are available across the standard GTS and GTS Super, while the GTS SuperSport model features five colourways to choose from. There are no differences in performance between the trio, although the most premium SuperSport edition benefits from phone connectivity as standard.
