Aprilia Tuareg Rally 660 Debuts as Off-Road Range Gets New Look for 2025
Aprilia’s impressive EICMA has seen the addition of a new Tuareg Rally 660 model to its new-look off-road range for 2025
Aprilia has introduced new models across most of its sportbike and naked range at EICMA, as a brand-new Tuono V4 Factory has joined the updated V4, while another debutant in the Tuono 457 has also landed alongside freshly revised RS660 and Tuono 660 bikes.
But it's not just the road and track-orientated motorcycles that have been given an update for 2025 as the Tuareg range has undergone a fresh look, while a new Rally edition has hit the scene to celebrate its racing success.
Victorious in its debut appearance at the Africa Eco Race, the Tuareg has risen to fame and the new Rally edition is an adventure bike built for off-road performance and is eerily close to the bike that was crowned the ‘Queen of Africa’ in the hands of Jacopo Curetti.
Making no bones about its intent, the new mudguard and thicker aluminium skid plate, highlight some of the new updates on the Rally 660. Additional protections include sturdy hand guards with metal cores. A new chain guide comes as standard to improve safety even in the most extreme conditions.
Aprilia focused its development heavily on the rider's ergonomics and the seat height is 20mm higher than the standard bike. A taller handlebar with a redesigned shape has also been included.
Aprilia’s Tuareg Rally 660 model features heavy-duty spoked wheels with Ergal narrow rims, while the Kayaba suspension offers 240mm of travel which is no different to the standard model. However, it does feature new springs with a linear elastic constant K instead of a progressive one.
Aprilia admits this will compromise comfort ever so slightly, but that it will significantly improve off-road riding feel. The stiffer suspension means less static sag, thus making the Tuareg Rally taller and increasing its actual suspension travel. The new Tuareg Rally has a dedicated SC Project exhaust system that features a fully titanium silencer and a racing-style end cap with a 60mm outlet. The wheel assembly and exhaust system contribute to reducing the Aprilia Tuareg Rally’s overall weight from 204kg to 199kg.
Updates don’t stop there as the standard Aprilia Tuareg’s 660 twin-cylinder engine now features 52mm throttle bodies, compared to the previous 48mm. The Tuareg 660 retains its horizontal triple headlamp, but the functional design has been revised, particularly around the headlamp cluster, which now includes a sleeker structure without the lower lip. The Aprilia Tuareg is also available in two new liveries, both featuring a red-painted frame which are Tornado Green and Hailstorm White.
Aprilia’s new Tuareg Rally will fit in as a competitor to the likes of the Yamaha Tenere 700 Extreme and KTM’s 890 Adventure R Rally.
Pricing and availability in the UK has not yet been disclosed but we expect both models to exceed £11K, with the previous model currently on sale for £10,000 - £750 less than the RRP price.
