Around 90,000 People Attend Motorcycle Live 2024
The Birmingham NEC-held show welcomed close to 100,000 people over its nine-day run
In a year of the biggest shake-up for Motorcycle Live in some time, the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA) has revealed that “just under” 90,000 people visited the show at Birmingham’s NEC. Attendance figures were broadly the same as last year, despite motorcycle sales trending downwards slightly in the UK.
The event took place over nine days from 16 - 24 November and featured the new ‘Expert Lab’ hosted by BBC and Isle of Man TT TV presenter Grace Webb. This section of the show involved Webb interviewing various OEM engineers and execs in front of a live audience.
There was also the ‘Machine Shop’ teaching bikers how to carry out various maintenance tasks, and an all-new Festival Zone. As well as hosting things like stunts and trials, the Festival Zone featured an evening of entertainment courtesy of the Rick Parfitt Jr Band and DJ Rosie, attended by 1,200 people.
On Tuesday and Thursday, MCL also hosted over 300 students from colleges and universities across the country, in a bid to inspire youngsters to consider the motorcycle industry as a career path. “Early feedback has been excellent saying students were blown away by what they saw and experienced,” the MCIA said.
Despite all the newness, the show was still dominated by large manufacturer stands showcasing all the latest and greatest motorcycles, many fresh from global debuts at EICMA in Milan a few weeks ago. Highlights included the 2025 Ducati Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2, the Triumph Tiger Sport 800 and the KTM 1390 Super Duke GT.
It won’t be long before work will start on next year’s event. “Planning for MCL 25 will soon be underway where our challenge will be to continue evolving, developing and generating new ideas, with the ultimate goal of creating new audiences, riders and helping to deliver a vibrant future for the industry,” the MCIA said.
