Buell Motorcycles is making a bold return to the high-performance motorcycle market with two new models set for 2026: the SuperTouring 1190 and the Super Cruiser.

Both bikes showcase Buell's commitment to blending American engineering with innovative design. Both bikes are aiming to send the brand toe-to-toe with the established European and Japanese brands in their respective segments.

The SuperTouring 1190 is Buell's entry into the sport-touring category, featuring a 1190cc V-twin engine that delivers 185 horsepower at 10,600rpm and 102lb ft of torque at 8,200rpm. This powerplant is housed within Buell's signature aluminium frame, which doubles as the fuel tank, contributing to a lower centre of gravity and improved handling. Tipping the scales at a claimed 199kg wet, the new SuperTouring is a tad lighter than much of the competition, thanks in part to extensive use of carbon fibre in the bodywork and the trick frame design.

Designed with versatility in mind, the SuperTouring includes features such as a modular fairing, side panniers, taller handlebars, a comfortable seat, and mid-set footpegs. Buell claims the bike can transition from a touring setup to a more sporty configuration in under an hour, highlighting its adaptability. The chassis of the bike boasts Fox suspension and Brembo stoppers, with Dunlop Sportmax Q5A tires taking care of the grip.

The SuperTouring is expected to start at $21,995 (around £16,459), with production slated to begin in the autumn of 2025. Interested customers can reserve a unit with a $50 deposit through Buell's website.

In collaboration with Roland Sands Design, Buell introduces the Super Cruiser, a motorcycle that merges sportbike performance with classic cruiser styling. Powered by the same 1190cc V-twin engine, the Super Cruiser produces 175 horsepower and 100lb ft of torque. Its lightweight steel trellis frame and 17-inch wheels should contribute to a nimble riding experience, with Fox suspension components and Brembo brakes featuring on the new model.

The Super Cruiser's design pays homage to vintage American motorcycles, featuring a minimalist aesthetic with a distinctive nose fairing and blacked-out components. The new bike has a wet weight of approximately 225kg, and it rolls on Dunlop Sportmax Q5A tires.

Priced at $25,900 (around £19,382), the Super Cruiser is also set for a fall 2025 release. Pre-orders are currently open on the Buell website, requiring a $1,000 deposit to secure a production slot.

Buell's Strategic Resurgence

These two models signify Buell's strategic effort to reestablish itself in the motorcycle industry by offering distinctive, performance-oriented machines that cater to both touring enthusiasts and cruiser aficionados. The two new models will land on the range alongside the already available Hammerhead 1190 sports bike and 1190SX super naked. There is still no official word on when the wild-looking Baja 1190 Dune Racer will officially be released.
