Can-Am’s Pulse and Origin electric models have delivered the company’s first iF award win, an award celebrating design and innovation.

The prestigious design award has been around for 71 years. It recognizes excellence in product design and is based across different disciplines, and Can-Am’s win is one that’s specific to the electric vehicle (EV) market.

The Can-Am Pulse and Can-Am Origin are two bikes that share several key attributes that have allowed them to get a leg up on the competition, which include unique aesthetics that give a distinct Can-Am styling and presence, as well as integrated technology such as a liquid-cooled power Page 2 system, which limits the degradation of its battery over time while still optimising the range and charge at the same time.

Charges can go from as low as 20 per cent to 80 per cent in 50 minutes which can be done by using Level 2 charging at home or at automotive charging stations.

The Origin model is the larger of the two and perhaps the most divisive looking as it’s a dual-purpose off-roader inspired by Can-Am’s ‘Track ‘n’ Trail’ roots.

The more urban-focused out of the two is the Can-Am Pulse roadster which is a bike that when it first landed, was viewed as a contender to the new LiveWire Del Mar.

Denys Lapointe, Chief Design Officer at BRP, said: “We are incredibly honored to receive this recognition from the iF Design Award. I want to acknowledge the work of the passionate team who designed these motorcycles, reaffirming once again BRP’s commitment to developing products that shift the paradigm.

“The Can-Am Pulse and Can-Am Origin redefine electric motorcycle riding. They have distinct personalities, but have one major thing in common: they blend iconic style with forward-thinking technology, providing people with unparalleled riding experiences.”
