Verge Launches B2B Platform: Verge Next
The move means that other motorcycle manufacturers can utilise Verge battery, motor and controller technology

Verge motorcycles is opening up its technology portfolio to other motorcycle manufacturers, meaning any brand can now take advantage of the Verge Next B2B platform.
The move comes after apparent advances from industry leaders globally, whom Verge claims want to tap into the Finnish brand's technology and know-how. This doesn’t mean the end of Verge Motorcycles as we know it, with the brand continuing to build its brutalistically styled electric motorbikes. It simply means that Verge Next will now take over the licensing and sales of the technology solutions used in the company’s bikes to meet the needs of the global two-wheeler industry.

Speaking about the launch of Verge Next, Verge’s CEO, Tuomo Lehtimäki, said:
“Over the last few years, Verge Motorcycles has paved the way for the future of motorcycles. Now, we are responding to the wishes of several manufacturers to gain access to our technology platform and components for use in their own vehicles. Verge Next is an ever-developing ecosystem, allowing industry operators to improve the safety, driveability, and other key characteristics of their products. We have discussed potential partnerships with several manufacturers, and, with Verge Next, we are able to establish new B2B arrangements even better than before”
Sharing technology in this way is a common feature in the pedal cycle industry, with brands regularly utilising the e-bicycle systems from rival manufacturers in their own bikes. It’s a little less common in the motorcycle industry, although the move from Verge to launch the new business arm may change that going forward.

“Our goal is to help manufacturers develop even better and more innovative electric vehicles. With Donut Lab making these exciting technologies available to the entire industry, the Verge Next team features extremely high-level competence especially in the development and manufacture of two-wheeled vehicles using these unique innovations”, concluded Donut Lab CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Verge Motorcycles Marko Lehtimäki.
